Esteemed Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles recently having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
