Devoted supporters of Ariana Grande are demanding that a person who jumped a fence and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.

A viral video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway accompanied by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being detained", though legal records showed that he was set to be present on the next day. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

Record of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account includes videos of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Well-being

Many fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote one more response on Instagram.

Several fans also criticised security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Premiere Information

In clips circulating online, Grande seemed startled when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of Singapore fans had lined up to see the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore mall, including several who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a dual adaptation of the acclaimed stage production Wicked, which centers on the unexpected bond between two distinct witches.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and scored 10 Oscar nominations, winning several for outstanding attire and production design.
