“At 58 years old, that means I could make the decision later on, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
Questioned regarding what circumstances must arise to bring him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; I don’t miss going to interviews multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews a week.
“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. With many victories thus frequently great spirits in the building. I can still hear the captain's chuckle in my ear to illustrate.”
Commending Arne Slot
He commended regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role for the tweaks that won the league last term. Liverpool have lost four consecutive matches across various tournaments following significant transfers, but he rubbished the idea it could be a slump.
“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. The French striker, incredible player. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry regarding the Reds, they'll bounce back.”
Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota
Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, whom he brought in during his tenure, and its impact for the team. The forward lost his life in a vehicle collision with his brother this past summer.
“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the team environment absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. A devastating blow for all the boys as well. No one within the club would cite it as an excuse but it is the situation. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Coping with it on a personal level is not easy. Overwhelming.”
